KEGG   ENZYME: 1.13.12.13
Entry
EC 1.13.12.13               Enzyme
Name
Oplophorus-luciferin 2-monooxygenase;
Oplophorus luciferase
Class
Oxidoreductases;
Acting on single donors with incorporation of molecular oxygen (oxygenases);
With incorporation of one atom of oxygen (internal monooxygenases or internal mixed-function oxidases)
Sysname
Oplophorus-luciferin:oxygen 2-oxidoreductase (decarboxylating)
Reaction(IUBMB)
Oplophorus luciferin + O2 = oxidized Oplophorus luciferin + CO2 + hnu [RN:R07128]
Reaction(KEGG)
R07128
Substrate
Oplophorus luciferin [CPD:C15037];
O2 [CPD:C00007]
Product
oxidized Oplophorus luciferin [CPD:C15038];
CO2 [CPD:C00011];
hnu [CPD:C00205]
Comment
The luciferase from the deep sea shrimp Oplophorus gracilirostris is a complex composed of more than one protein. The enzyme's specificity is quite broad, with both coelenterazine and bisdeoxycoelenterazine being good substrates.
