Contains flavin. The enzyme, characterized from the bacterium Clostridium scindens, participates in the bile acid 7alpha-dehydroxylation pathway. The enzyme catalyses two subsequent reductions of the double bonds within the bile acid A/B rings, following 7alpha-dehydration.
