Name
L-olivosyl-oleandolide 3-O-methyltransferase;
OleY
Class
Transferases;
Transferring one-carbon groups;
Methyltransferases
Sysname
S-adenosyl-L-methionine:L-olivosyl-oleandolide B 3-O-methyltransferase
Reaction(IUBMB)
S-adenosyl-L-methionine + L-olivosyl-oleandolide = S-adenosyl-L-homocysteine + L-oleandrosyl-oleandolide [RN:R06456]
Reaction(KEGG)
R06456
Substrate
S-adenosyl-L-methionine [CPD:C00019];
L-olivosyl-oleandolide [CPD:C11991]
Product
S-adenosyl-L-homocysteine [CPD:C00021];
L-oleandrosyl-oleandolide [CPD:C11992]
Comment
The enzyme is involved in the biosynthesis of the macrolide antibiotic oleandomycin in Streptomyces antibioticus. It can also act on other monoglycosylated macrolactones, including L-rhamnosyl-erythronolide B and L-mycarosyl-erythronolide B.
