Comment | Hyperthermophilic, heterotrophic archaeon. Obligatory fermentative anaerobe capable of growth on complex proteinaceous substrates. Isolated from a sample from a deep-sea hydrothermal vent chimney collected from the Iheya North (27 deg 47 min N, 126 deg 53 min E) in the Mid-Okinawa Trough, Japan at a depth of 957 m in 2018.
